In terms of major roads, Kent has several motorways that cross it in various places: a section of the M25 from Westerham to the Dartford Crossing; the M2 connects Faversham and Medway; the M20, Swanley to Folkestone and the M26 runs between the M25 at Sevenoaks and the M20 at Wrotham.

The locality to Europe of Kent’s coastline means there are several ports handling both passenger and container shipping. The most notable ones being Dover, Folkestone,  and Ramsgate.

Kent’s railways are well connected to London from all major towns and much of the service is being renewed currently. The Channel Tunnel high-speed rail line between London and France passes through the county, with two passenger terminals located at Ebbsfleet and Ashford respectively.

Kent International Airport operates a small amount of short haul passenger and cargo flights. However, given the presence in the South East region of four major London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton), Kent is well placed for air transport.
